Chris has Climbed Back, Literally, To An Active Life After Amputation

Received following message and photo from POA client and BK amputee, Chris Morgan.  Way to go, Chris!

“Celebrating my first Mother’s Day in 2-1/2 years not hopping, limping or crutching around. I could actually play with my kids and not feel like a ‘crabby mom.’  My daughter Jade actually commented this weekend,  ‘I love our family–we’re adventurous!’  {{grin}} Finally getting our lives back! Thanks Ronnie, Stan, and all the people at POA. You guys are awesome!”    #POAproud #workharddreambig #believe

POA’s Zoe Gibbs in the News!, “Teenager Returns to Volleyball Court with Prosthetic Leg,” 10/8/2012

Zoe was in the news again!  This time, “The Ledger,” a Polk County Florida newspaper, featured her in an article about her return to Volleyball.  Zoe lost her leg in 2011 after a jet-ski accident.  Since then she has overcome many obstacles, including several surgeries and infections.  Now Zoe is focusing on the future, and doing all the things a normal 16-year-old girl does – like driving on car!   🙂   click here to view “The Ledger,” article dated 10/8/2012 —>Zoe Gibbs return to Volleyball

Leo Morales, Hip Disarticulate, attempting to break Guiness World Record, proving once again that disability is a state of mind, 10/3/2012

Next month, POA’s Leo Morales of Cancun, Mexico will be attempting to break a Guiness World diving Record by descending 122 meters into the ocean! Leo tells us he is keeping a promise he made to himself and Stan several years ago, “to use his life to inspire others and prove that amputees can still do amazing things.” Leo’s leg was amputated at the hip in 2008 after he was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after he and his wife traveled to the U.S. searching for the right solution for his prosthetic care. POA was his first stop…. and the rest is history! We are proud of Leo and all he has accomplished – especially how he continues to challenge himself. He’s already a champion…. Bravo, Leo!!!     Click on the following link to read Leo’s patient profile —>Leo Morales Patient Page
