POA sees patients of all ages and activity levels. Whether you are in need of a prosthesis that will simply allow you to move around your home, or one that will make running a 26.2-mile marathon possible, we will find the perfect fit. POA employs the most advanced techniques known in the precision fitting and fabrication of custom prosthetics.
We specialize in engineering and fitting high-performance prostheses that support active lifestyles. Custom prosthetics that pull their weight in extreme sports, as well as rigorous everyday duties, have earned POA the praise and respect of our patients and our industry. POA has created an innovative approach to patient centered care, providing an environment that encourages friendship, collaboration, and excellence in all that we do. We believe your prosthesis should be a reflection of who you are and what you want to achieve. Our clinicians are highly-skilled artisans who will keep you involved throughout the entire process of design, fabrication, and fitting of your prosthesis. Any out-of-state clients seeking our service (we have many), should know that we are always happy to assist with any travel and transportation planning.

Stan Patterson is a world recognized, American Board Certified Prosthetist, known for his revolutionary strides in prosthetic design. He graduated from the University of North Alabama with a B.S. degree in Education and earned his certification in prosthetics from the American Board for Certification in 1994. Since 1997, Patterson has founded and managed several prosthetic patient care facilities. In 1999, he founded Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) of Central Florida, an industry leader and innovator in the custom fabrication of high-performance prosthetic products. He has since opened patient fitting facilities in Southern California, Louisiana, and, most recently, Hawaii.
Patterson is a highly sought-after and respected speaker at national prosthetic and orthotic conferences, and has served as an adjunct professor for Otto Bock Healthcare and TEC Interface Systems. He was honored by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists as the recipient of the 2007 Clinical Commitment Award at their 33rd Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California. In July 2012, Patterson was elected, by unanimous consent, to a 3-year term as a member of the Orlando Science Center Board of Trustees.
When Patterson founded POA, his objective was to help as many people as he could, and he vowed to never turn anyone away due to lack of ability to pay. His business model is simple: “Do the right thing and the rest will follow.” For over 20 years, POA has helped countless amputees from all around the U.S. and the world achieve their goals – anything from taking a walk with their grandchildren to running a marathon.
Patterson lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Beth, and their three canine children – Kaia, Simba II and “Z”
