PFFD & Other Congenital Conditions

Our PFFD sockets are fabricated much like a single-wall AK socket, but modified to address the patient’s level of PFFD. The suspension will consist of either a custom silicone liner with silicone seal sock or prosthetic socks ,depending on the anatomy and preference of the patient. If the patient can bear weight on the end of their limb, a Patterson Propulsion Socket (PPS) socket design may be used.

Another type of prosthesis, the Foot over Foot system is utilized on PFFD individuals with a short limb and functioning foot.
